The long-term vision for this former mill site is a new mixed-use neighborhood, featuring residential, commercial, light industrial and institutional uses, as well as parks, trails and a healthy shoreline. Since 2005, hundreds of community members have shared their ideas and
dedicated advisory groups, including the Planning Commission, have helped shape proposed plans for this area. The draft documents below chart the course for City and Port collaboration on redevelopment work for decades to come.
August 5, 2013 - Bellingham City Council held a public hearing at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers, City Hall, 210 Lottie Street (Click

The Council completed its consideration of the plan in a series of work sessions through the summer and early fall, and in December, 2013 the Bellingham City Council approved the Waterfront District Subarea Plan and related development regulations. The Planning Commission completed their review and considerations of the Draft Subarea Plan, Draft Development Regulations, Draft Design Standards and Draft Planned Action Ordinance on June 6, 2013 by approving 7-0 the
Findings of Fact, Conclusions and Recommendations. Click
