Check out the following information on both upcoming and past events held in an effort to provide more opportunities for our community's landlords to get involved.
Thursday, April 19, 2018 - Free Fair Housing Training
*The City of Bellingham is excited to host presenters from the Fair Housing Center of Washington who will be offering two identical free sessions targeted at landlords and property managers that will provide an overview of fair housing regulations, including assistance animals and other disability accommodations. Additionally, the City Attorney will do a preview of the new ordinance protecting vulnerable rentals.
There will be two identical sessions, but space is limited. We encourage all property owners and property management companies to attend, and welcome multiple staff from larger property management agencies to RSVP. Fair Housing is crucial for us to maintain in our community, and we all need to understand the ways in which to keep our housing and processes welcoming and fair, even amidst complicated regulations and confusing situations.
You will be able to choose between either session, both of which will be held at the Central Library in the downstairs lecture room:
- Session 1: 10:00 am to 12:00 pm - FULL, no further RSVPs can be accepted for this time slot.
- Session 2: 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm
You can RSVP here for either one of the sessions (but please not both - they are identical). You will need to enter the password "Fair" to be able to choose a time and enter your RSVP. Space is limited, so please keep in mind your RSVP is your commitment to attend.
