Host an Event
The City of Bellingham is inviting community organizations, governments, businesses, academic institutions, arts/music organizations, individuals and other interest groups to participate in our first ALL IN for Climate Action Week by hosting an event during the week of September 21-27, 2020. Community engagement through events such as panel discussions, lectures, concerts, exhibitions and more are essential to continuing to build awareness and further our community's commitment to climate action. The ALL IN for Climate Action Week 2019 events brought in more than 1,500 participants!

How will COVID-19 impact ALL IN for Climate Action Week 2020?
We cannot predict what the world will look like in September, but we need to ensure that each of the events adheres to current local and state requirements and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Whatcom County Health Department. Each event will need to plan for physical distancing if needed, including possibly being entirely virtual.
Fortunately, one thing we have all learned in this time of physical distancing is that there are still many creative ways to engage the community in events such as seminars, workshops, art exhibitions, panel discussions, film showings, concerts and more! Local organizations are already adapting their events to be consistent with current health guidelines – you can find examples here by looking through events from the past month. Now more than ever, we need events that will bring our community together and give us all a sense of purpose. We believe that these events are worth the extra effort that will be required to plan them this year.
Who can register for an official ALL IN for Climate Action Week event?
Community groups, governments, businesses, academic institutions, arts and music organizations, tribes, faith groups, youth organizations, other non-profit organizations and individuals are all invited to host events. The more events we can offer, the greater the reach and impact we will have! All events must align with the City's climate actions goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
