Holly Street to close for overnight paving work

End is now in sight for two major Holly Street construction projects

June 07, 2017 - by Amy Cloud, Communications and Outreach

Two major construction projects on Holly Street, one to replace a watermain on West Holly and one to repair the street surface and ADA curbing and ramps on Holly Street downtown, are in their final phases.

A planned overnight closure for downtown Holly Street, to allow repaving, has been postponed from Thursday, June 8, due to forecasted rain.

The downtown Holly Street night paving (between Railroad Avenue and Bay Street) is now scheduled for 7 p.m. Sunday, June 11, through 7 a.m. Monday, June 12. During this time side streets and alleys will be open from Magnolia and Chestnut to local business and residential traffic with flaggers on duty. Sidewalks along Holly Street will remain open. In the following days the connecting side streets will be paved during the day and the striping work will be done.

On Monday morning, June 12 through Tuesday, June 13, paving crews will begin paving on West Holly Street from Central to Broadway, over the new watermain.
