November 14 event to recognize new park, street projects

November 09, 2017 - by Vanessa Blackburn, Mayor's Office

The City of Bellingham is celebrating the upcoming construction of our newest waterfront road and park projects with a public groundbreaking ceremony. The event will take place at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 14 near Central Avenue Pier and the Granary Building.

“We are very excited that these projects are moving forward to provide much needed public access to our waterfront,” Mayor Kelli Linville said. “We hope the community can come help us celebrate construction of the Granary Avenue/Laurel Street and Waypoint Park projects.”

Parking is unavailable on site, but limited public parking is available on Central Avenue, Holly Street, Bay Street, Champion Street and in the Commercial Street Parking Garage at 1300 Commercial Street. We encourage attendees to carpool, walk, bus or ride your bike to the site if possible. ADA/accessibility accommodations can be arranged in advance by contacting the Mayor’s Office at (360) 778-8100.
