City accepting entries for “Essence of Bellingham”

Photo competition focuses on people

February 05, 2016 - by Shannon Taysi

The City of Bellingham and the Whatcom Museum are excited to announce the acceptance of entries for the “Essence of Bellingham” photo competition. This is an opportunity for amateur and professional photographers of all ages to submit photos that capture the true “essence” of Bellingham and document the history of our ever changing community.

“This year we encourage photographers to submit photos that highlight people living, working and playing in Bellingham. One of Bellingham’s greatest strengths is in the vibrancy and passion of the people who live here,” said Mayor Kelli Linville.

Winners receive special recognition by Mayor Linville and the Bellingham City Council. Photos will be on display in City Hall, featured on BTV10 and the City Web site, and added to the Museum’s photo archives.

Entries are being accepted now through May 1, 2016.

Complete competition details, an online entry form, and photographs from past competitions are available on the City of Bellingham Web site at www.cob.org/eob.
