February 16, 2017 - by Danette Beckley, Public Information Officer

The Bellingham Police Department is investigating recent incidents of voyeurism reported in the 700 to 1100 blocks of N. Garden Street, the 1300 block of Franklin Street and the 1000 block of Jersey Street.  Most incidents occurred in the early morning hours as people were waking to go to work or school.  One incident was reported around 11 p.m.

The voyeur is described as a white male wearing a dark or black hooded sweatshirt.  The male reportedly holds up a flashlight, which could be the flashlight on a phone.

Bellingham Police and Western Washington University Police have assigned extra patrols to the area.  The public should be on alert and report any instances of someone knocking on or looking in windows to 911 immediately.

Anyone who believes they have information that will assist us in identifying the suspect should call Detective Howell at 360.778.8682.  Please review these safety reminders (PDF) from Neighborhood Officer Eric Osterkamp to help keep you and your home safe.
