Cordata Safe Routes to School Program

​Project Overview:  ES-0531

The project includes bike lanes, sidewalks, planter strip, curb, gutter and streetlights.  The purpose is to provide the retrofit of Aldrich Road to provide access to all users, including bicyclists, pedestrians, motorists and public transportation riders.  In particular, to provide better access to the Cordata Elementary School.

 Funding from Transportation Improvement Board (TIB) for $500,000.  Federal Safe Route to School $103,000

Status - May 2018

Accomplishments:  90% design complete.  Permits underway.  Obtained right of entry for all parcels.

Next milestones:   Obtain property rights and finish permits.  Should be able to advertise the project for construction this year.  Working on changing the STIP so the ECS for CE will be accepted by the state.
