Records Bureau

Civilian employees have worked in the police department since the inception of the department but an employee card was found for a stenographer's hire date of June 1, 1944.

The records bureau is staffed by eleven employees.  The bureau is open to the public Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The specialists perform a variety of services for the public to include background checks, issuing concealed pistol licenses, providing gun checks on transferred hand guns and filling public disclosure requests.

The bureau is staffed for law enforcement personnel 24/7.  Specialists research requests from officers or detectives providing information to those in the field.
