1. APPROVAL OF CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE AND/OR SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES

Committee Meeting minutes of July 27 and August 10 were submitted for approval.

GK/BR MOVED APPROVAL OF THE MINUTES AS SUBMITTED.

A vote was taken and the motion to approve the July 27th minutes passed 6-0. Stan Snapp excused. The August 10th minutes passed 5-0-1. Stan Snapp excused. Terry Bornemann abstained.

2. OLD/NEW BUSINESS

Bellingham Ranking in Smarter Cities Project

Terry Bornemann announced that the City of Bellingham achieved the #1 ranking in the nation in the Small Cities category (pop 50,000 – 99,999) of the National Resources Defense Council Smarter Cities project. Bellingham ranked first in the categories of Air Quality, Green Space and scored high marks in Energy Production and Conservation, Green Building and Recycling categories.

The meeting was adjourned to Executive Session at 2:10 to hear the following items:
