The minutes of the Special Meeting of the Waterfront Committee on August 9, 2011, were submitted for approval. TB/JW MOVED APPROVAL. The motion carried 4-0.

The minutes of the City Council Committee Meetings on August 15, 2011, were submitted for approval. GK/BB MOVED APPROVAL. The motion carried 7-0.


Guidelines for Public Comment

There was discussion related to posting guidelines for Public Comment period proposed by Joan Hoisington and revised by Stan Snapp. The guidelines were approved as amended by unanimous consent.

County Council consideration of Yew Street Road Urban Growth Area

Jack Weiss reported that the County Council would meet tomorrow night to discuss adding Yew Street Road to Bellingham’s UGA. He spoke with one of the County Council Members who asked for a reaffirmation of the City’s position opposing a change to the UGA in that area. David Webster informed Council the administration has already sent a reaffirmation letter to the County Council.

At 4:21 PM Council President Stan Snapp adjourned the meeting to Executive Session to hear the following items:
