2. APPROVAL OF CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE AND/OR SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES
The minutes of the Joint Council’s and Commissioners Special Meeting of March 30, 2011 were submitted for approval. Stan Snapp noted that Laura Weide’s name was spelled incorrectly and provided the proper spelling.
GK/BB MOVED APPROVAL AS AMENDED. The motion carried 6-0. Jack Weiss excused.
The Committee Meeting Minutes of April 11, 2011 were submitted for approval.
BB/TB MOVED APPROVAL. The motion carried 6-0. Jack Weiss excused.
3. OLD/NEW BUSINESS
Future Museum Exhibit
Terry Bornemann reported the he attended the Whatcom Museum Board Retreat. He expressed admiration for the Museum Board’s planning efforts for a major exhibit called, “Vanishing Ice” This exhibit is intended to artistically illustrate the loss of arctic ice over the past. This will be a very large undertaking but already there is interest in it from other countries. It is expected to come to fruition in 2013.
At 1:55 PM the meeting was adjourned to Executive Session by Council President Stan Snapp to hear the following items:
