AB19810 3. City Council's Environmental Impact Statement Scoping request regarding the Gateway Pacific Terminal project related to local impacts from climate change

JW/GK MOVED TO RECOMMEND APPROVAL. The motion carried 5-1-0. TB opposed. CL excused.

Post Point Wastewater Treatment Plant construction tour

Stan Snapp reported that staff requested an opportunity to take members on a tour of the construction site to give an update on the project. Stan Snapp, Jack Weiss, Seth Fleetwood and Gene Knutson and Michael Lilliquist expressed interest. J. Lynne Walker will coordinate with staff to arrange the details.

City Council Legislative Agenda Items

Michael Lilliquist asked about the process for getting Council's legislative priority items to the lobbyists. Seth Fleetwood responded that if Council Members had items that they should send them to the Council's Executive Assistant to compile into a list and that the list could come forward to the next Council meeting for discussion on January 28th.

Council Committee Seating

Stan Snapp expressed his desire to hold the Public Works/Public Safety Committee Meetings at tables down on the floor of the Chambers. He reviewed elements of a memo by the Council's Executive Assistant outlining issues related to doing so and stated his feeling that these issues should not prevent the Committee from being able to make that move. Mr. Weiss stated that he would have the Planning Committee meet at the dais. Mr. Bornemann stated his preference for seating at the dais. Mayor Linville said she would have the IT Director come to the next Council meeting to discuss the issues directly with the Council.

City Council Retreat

Jack Weiss asked if there was interest in a Council Retreat for 2013. Mr. Fleetwood suggested that Council Members think about it and discuss it further at the next meeting.
At 3:02 PM Council President Fleetwood adjourned the meeting to Executive Session to hear the following:
