PUBLIC MEETING

1. Project description: Construction of a 10-foot wide by 120-foot long floating concrete pier for moorage of an 87’ Coast Guard coastal patrol boat. Said pier will be attached to an existing stub pier in Fairhaven. The pier will be constructed of concrete with styrofoam center and a gangway of metal grating. Floating pier will be supported by six to eight concrete-filled steel piles not greater than 24-inches in diameter. Pier will cover an area of approximately 1,200 square feet of water surface.

Project Location: Generally located at 400 Harris Avenue. Bellingham Bay – Urban Maritime Shoreline Designation. Area 1B, Fairhaven Neighborhood, Marine Industrial.

2. Project descriptions: Addition of a 4’ x 50’ steel grate to an existing haul out pier. Purpose of grating is to provide safety access to the outside of the haul-out area of the pier while it is in use.

Project Location: 707 Harris Avenue. Generally located north of the Padden Lagoon railroad trestle at Fairhaven Marine Industrial Park pier, over the waters of Bellingham Bay. Urban 1 Shoreline Designation. Area 1, Fairhaven Neighborhood.

Anyone wishing to comment may send them to the Planning and Community Development Department, City Hall, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, WA 98225. Written comments will continue to be received through 5:00 p.m. October 20, 2005.
