PUBLIC MEETING

1. SHR2006-00003: A public meeting to consider a request for a Shoreline Permit to build the “Racine to Fraser” link of the Whatcom Creek Trail. This project includes a non-vehicular bridge over Whatcom Creek, linking the Whatcom Creek Trail on the north side of Whatcom Creek via this new trail south to Fraser Street and the Civic Field Complex. The shared-use limestone trail will be 1,150 feet long and eight feed wide with one-foot shoulders. The trail alignment was chosen to minimize impacts to wetlands and existing vegetation. The project is located within the Racine St. ROW east of the Haskell Business Park, between Whatcom Creek and Fraser St. in the Puget Neighborhood, Area 1; Public and Planned Industrial Land Use Designation; Conservancy I Shoreline Designation.

Applicant: Bellingham Parks & Recreation Dept.; Leslie Bryson, contact.
