WORKSESSION(S):
1.
A worksession to discuss and provide recommendations regarding nine proposed site specific amendments to the Neighborhood Plans component of the Bellingham Comprehensive Plan. The Commission will discuss the proposed amendments and provide recommendations to the City Council regarding which of the proposals should be included in the 2007 amendment review process. The proposed amendments to the Birchwood, Fairhaven, Guide Meridian, Puget, Samish, Sehome and Sunnyland neighborhood plans and zoning were submitted by various property owners. If the Council decides to include review of any of the proposed amendments in the 2007 process, the Planning Commission and City Council would hold public hearings, beginning in the spring and continue through the fall of 2007.
In addition, the Commission will hear about proposals submitted by seven neighborhood associations. Five of those submissions have been initiated already by the Planning & Community Development Director (Fairhaven, Samish, South Hill, Lettered Streets and Guide Meridian), one was deemed incomplete (York), and one was determined to be site-specific and is included with the other site specific proposals (Birchwood).
Additional information regarding the proposed amendments is available on the City's web site at
www.cob.org/pcd/planning/2007NeighborhoodPlanAmendments.htm
.
Anyone wishing to comment in favor of or in objection to the proposals is invited to attend or respond in writing.
