    Director’s Report and Highlights

    Submitted by Pamela Nyberg Kiesner

    Fairhaven Q & A
In advance of Tuesday’s meeting, please take a few minutes to review the Condition Assessment of the Fairhaven Branch that BOLA Architects completed recently. Rhoda, from BOLA, and a representative from Pioneer Masonry are attending our meeting and will spend up to an hour with us to answer questions related to this portion of their report.

    Other facilities in the works
The remainder of our meeting will include a progress report on our north side and east side library presence, and on the work beginning with our building program consultants for a replacement Central Library.

    Policy revision
A revision of the Library Board’s policy entitled “Code of Conduct” is included in your packet. It incorporates the changes discussed at your last meeting and we’ll discuss this and ask for your approval.

    Business is booming
You will note that our performance and activity measures continue to climb in comparison to last year. If you come into the libraries, you’ll see that the activity level is astounding. We have amazing staff who continues to handle these increases in our daily operations with good humor and great customer service skills. At the same time, we are actively experimenting with new ways of doing business to increase our efficiencies – and plan for expanded services to meet the demands of our customers.

Exciting times at the Bellingham Public Library!
