Chapter 46 COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY BOARD

2.46.020 - MEMBERSHIP

The Advisory Board shall consist of 15 members, appointed by the Mayor, who shall serve without compensation. No member of the Advisory Board shall be employed by the City.

A. In selecting members of the Advisory Board, the Mayor shall take the following factors into consideration:

B. The Advisory Board, City staff, and others may recommend citizens for membership on the board. These recommendations shall be presented to the Mayor. All members shall be appointed by the Mayor and shall serve 3-year terms unless they resign or are removed, with the exception of the Bellingham Housing Authority member.

C. Vacancies in the Advisory Board shall be filled in the same manner as the original appointment, with the replacement member filling the remainder of the unexpired term. Members may be removed from the Advisory Board after two consecutive unexcused absences from regular meetings. The Chairperson shall determine acceptable excuses.

D. Members of the Advisory Board should generally serve for no more than two consecutive terms.
