Chapter 32 NONUNION EMPLOYEE COMPENSATION PLAN

3.32.050 - IMPLEMENTATION

In order to reduce the impact upon the budget of establishing the exempt salary plan, employees shall not be placed immediately in the appropriate step for longevity. Instead, the exempt salary plan shall be implemented as follows:

A. For the final 2 months of 1984, employees shall be placed in the step or the mid-step that will result in a raise of at least one-half step over their current salary.

B. Employees with 5 or more years of city employment shall be placed, at a minimum, in Step 2 of their range.

C. In determining step placement, the division of personnel services shall take into account whether an employee was entitled to a range adjustment in 1984 due to a job audit, or the completion of a probationary period, but had not received same prior to the enactment of this ordinance.

D. Commencing in 1985, employees will annually move through their respective ranges at one step intervals upon the anniversary date of their employment.
