Anti-Canadian shopper posting on Facebook

In June, a Facebook page was set up calling for Costco to set aside hours for shopping just for American shoppers. The poster expressed frustration with Canadian shoppers crowding the store and parking lot. The media has just picked up the story and it went international. Mr. Bornemann expressed the City's opposition to both the sentiment and inflammatory comments posted to it and added that before anyone clicks the "Like" button, s/he should think about the benefits to the City the sales tax revenue brings. Mr. Knutson added that Canadians have been our brothers and sisters for many years. Mayor Linville reported that she and Mr. Bornemann had been interviewed by a Seattle news station on Friday. Seth Fleetwood spoke about being interviewed on the Bill Good radio show in Vancouver this morning.
