All About Bellingham Bellingham is located on the northern edge of Puget Sound nestled between Bellingham Bay and Mt. Baker. We are 90 miles north of Seattle, Washington, 25 miles south of the Canadian border, and 60 miles from Vancouver, B.C.
Our city of just under 70,000 boasts a full-scale University, serves as the county seat of Whatcom County, and is a natural gateway to Alaska, western Canada, North Cascades National Park, and the San Juan Islands. The multi-modal transportation terminal in the Fairhaven district connects people to I-5, Greyhound, Amtrack, the Alaska State Ferry System, and private tour services to Victoria and the San Juans.
