Utility Bill Auto Pay

Automatic Funds Transfer (AFT) is a program designed to provide our customers with the option of paying utility bills through an automatic withdrawal from their checking or savings accounts. AFT is the most convenient, reliable, and least expensive way to pay your bill. You save time by not having to write checks and also save the cost of postage. Furthermore, you no longer have to worry about payments getting lost in the mail or about late payment charges when you are out of town on business or vacation.

To sign up for Automatic Funds Transfer, complete and sign the Autopay Enrollment Form (PDF). Return the form to the City of Bellingham Finance Department, 210 Lottie Street, Bellingham, WA 98225 along with a VOIDED check or savings withdrawal slip for the account you want to use for your AFT. When we receive the form, a validation period of fifteen (15) business days will be required to verify the banking information. Once validated, you will be actively enrolled; there is no charge for this service.

If you need to terminate the service, simply notify the Finance Department in writing five (5) business days before your account is scheduled to be debited (the due date on your billing).

You will still receive a bill from us each billing cycle. It will tell you how much money you owe and the due date when the funds will be withdrawn from your account. If you are on a meter, it will continue to indicate how much water you have used.

If you have additional questions, please call the Finance Department.
