The second city-hosted Planning Academy, titled Green Bellingham - Achieving Infill, Enhancing Character, was held April 30, May 7, May 21 and May 28, 2008 at 1320 Cornwall Avenue (former Kendrick's Billiards), from 6-9 p.m. The purpose of this series was to engage community members in creating an Infill Housing Toolkit, a "toolbox" of alternative housing types that may be integrated into appropriate areas of existing and new neighborhoods. All available course materials will be posted on this website, and all workshops are being filmed and shown on BTV10.
True Urbanism: Living In and Near the Center by Mark Hinshaw, (2007). A copy of this book will be handed out at Workshop I to each participant.
This taskforce, comprised of citizens representing many different stakeholder groups, met a total of four times to discuss the components necessary to make Planning Academy II a success.
