Downtown Planning

NEW! Over the past two years, the community has had the opportunity to provide input into the new Downtown Bellingham Plan in many unique ways. This feedback has been incorporated into the draft Downtown Bellingham Plan that is now available for review and comment. Draft development regulations and a summary of additional associated changes are also available. All of the Downtown planning documents are scheduled for a public hearing at the March 27, 2014 Planning Commission meeting. The Planning Commission packet, including the staff report and City Center Implementation Strategy, is now posted.

The following Boards and Commissions will be asked to provide a recommendation to the Planning Commission on the draft Plan:

Prior Downtown Planning

Bellingham’s downtown is thriving, thanks in part to an effective master plan and implementation strategy adopted in 2002. Many of the projects within the 2002 City Center Master Plan have been completed, including:
