Building Codes
Effective August 1st, 2007, the City of Bellingham
enforces the following International Codes, Washington State Amendments,
Washington Administrative Code (WAC), and Structural Criteria, all as
adopted in the Bellingham Municipal Code Chapter 17.

The
International Building Code became effective in all Washington State
cities and counties in July of 2004, and was adopted by reference into the
Bellingham Municipal Code. For information on how to purchase copies of the
International Building Code (IBC) and other code books, go to
www.wabo.org/codebooks.
Additionally, it is important to also check the Washington State Building
Code site for amendments to the building codes. See
