
In 2011 the City of Bellingham was awarded a grant from the Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation to hire a consultant team to complete a historic resource survey of the "Broadway Park" area of the Cornwall Park Neighborhood. The grant proposal also included the nomination of the Broadway Park Historic District to the National of Historic Places.*

Project Next Steps
In 2007 the City of Bellingham received a federal Preserve America grant to complete an historic resource survey and inventory of three older Bellingham neighborhoods: Lettered Streets, South Hill and York. Phase II of the project involved writing a National Register of Historic Places District nomination for each neighborhood.
Note: National Register status imposes no restrictions to property owners.
