Creating a Multiple Property Listing is a method used to concurrently list a series of related, but independent, properties on the National Register of Historic Places Multiple Property Nomination form (PDF). By utilizing the Multiple Property Listing Document, or "MPD", owners of eligible historic commercial buildings within the documentation area can easily list their buildings, making them eligible for both local and federal tax incentives.
The Multiple Property Listing for Commercial Buildings of the Central Business District of Bellingham, Washington, 1882-1915 was completed by the Planning and Community Development Department in 2003. This was the first of several historic resource planning actions identified in the City Center Master Plan - Chapter 4: Historic Resources, page 4-7, #2, "Recommended Actions" (PDF), and since then, a number of buildings have been added.
The following commercial buildings have been nominated for the National Register of Historic Places and are all located within the Multiple Property Listing Boundary (map). Click the thumbnail photograph for a larger view.
