The Multiple Property Listing for Commercial Buildings of the Central Business District of Bellingham, Washington, 1882-1915 was completed by the Planning and Community Development Department in 2003, the first of several historic resource planning actions identified in the City Center Master Plan (see Chapter 4: Historic Resources, page 4-7, #2, “Recommended Actions†(PDF)).
Creating a Multiple Property Listing is a method used to concurrently list a series of related, but independent, properties on the National Register of Historic Places Multiple Property Nomination form (PDF).
By utilizing the Multiple Property Listing Document, or "MPD", owners of eligible historic commercial buildings within the documentation area can easily list their buildings, making them eligible for both local and federal tax incentives. Since 2003, a number of additional buildings have been added to the listing.
