
The historic Roland G. Gamwell House (to the left), built in the 1890s at
1001 16th Street in the South Hill neighborhood, is one of Bellingham's many
historic buildings that are listed on the National Register of Historic
Places.
The
Nelson Block at 1100-1102 Harris Avenue was built in 1900 by local
entrepreneur J.P. Nelson. The building is one of the key contributing
buildings in the Fairhaven Historic District.
Built
in 1903 at1226 North State Street, the Hotel Laube is an excellent example
of early twentieth century brick commercial style architecture. As such it
was the first of several to be listed in the Multiple Property Listing for
the
Commercial Buildings of the Central Business District of Bellingham,
Washington, 1882 - 1915.
