San Juan / Yew Street Annexation

Location Map

The proposed San Juan/Yew Street Annexation includes 12 acres. The area is in the Yew Street Urban Growth Area and is adjacent to Bellingham City Limits and the Puget and Whatcom Falls neighborhoods. The area is generally bound by Yew Street, Woodbine Estates, Pacificview subdivision and Consolidation Avenue to the north. San Juan Boulevard bisects the annexation area.

The Annexation Process So Far: (see City Council agenda packets for details)

Sept. 11, 2006: Bellingham City Council held a public meeting to consider the annexation petition and voted to initiate the annexation process.

July 20, 2006: Owners of property in the proposed annexation area submitted the required 10 percent petition for annexation to the City of Bellingham.

June 27, 2006: A neighborhood meeting was held at Kulshan Middle School, attended by approximately 20 property owners and residents from the proposed annexation area and the adjacent neighborhood.
