Pacific Hwy/Northwest/Aldrich Annexation

The proposed Pacific Hwy./Northwest/Aldrich Road Annexation area is in Bellingham's Northern Urban Growth Area and comprises approximately 265 acres. The area lies adjacent to the city limits and shares a common boundary with the Guide Meridian / Cordata Neighborhood on the east and south. Pacific Hwy. forms the annexation boundary on the west; Stuart Road (unimproved) forms a portion of the north boundary between Pacific Hwy. and Northwest Avenue. Larrabee Road is the northern boundary between Northwest Avenue and Aldrich Road. All rights-of-ways are included the annexation proposal.

Approximately 60 acres of the area is zoned for light impact industrial development in Whatcom County. Industrial development is located along Pacific Highway with good visibility from Interstate-5. The remaining portion of the annexation area is zoned for residential development with an Urban Residential Mixed (URMX) designation allowing 6 dwelling units an acre with the possibility of increasing the number to 10 with the purchase of Transfer of Development Rights from Lake Whatcom Watershed. Single family dwellings are located along Northwest Drive, Larrabee Road and Aldrich Road. Assessed valuation for the area is $17,065,455.
