Description: The Donation Land Claims layer depicts
land claims that predate the surveys of the townships and do not
conform to the Public Land System of rectangular surveys. Donation
Land Claims is a polygon featureclass which contains the City of
Bellingham's thirteen Donation Land Claims. The Donation Land Claim
Act of 1850 was intended to promote settlement in the Pacific
Northwest. Attributes are limited to the name of the Donation Land
Claim. Symbology: Polygons are symbolized by a “single symbol” with the Donation Land Claims in a light grey and a 25% transparency so that other features are visible below them. Labels: Labels are displayed based on the NAME field, and are a bold grey in color. The "Label Features" option is selected so they will be visible as soon as you bring them into your project.
