Sewer Utility Data includes the basic components of the City of Bellingham's sanitary sewer system. The data has been symbolized and color coded with mapping parameters conveniently pre-set.
Catch Basin
(metadata)
Description: This point feature class is a
collection of sewer catch basins found in the City of Bellingham's
sanitary sewer system. Catch basins prevent clogging of sewers by
sediment and debris washed off streets and other surfaces, and
provide a water seal against the venting of sewer gases. At this
time we do not have record of existing sewer catch basins, and it is
not anticipated that there will ever be any in use within the City
of Bellingham (per Engineer Martin Kjelstad).
Symbology: All points are symbolized using a
"single symbol" set. Catch basins are shown as green squares.
Labels: The labels represent each catch
basin's unit ID number, and is derived from the "unitid" data field.
Definition Query: None
Clean Out
(metadata)
Description: This point feature class is a
collection of sewer clean outs found in the City of Bellingham's
sanitary sewer system. A sanitary sewer cleanout is installed at the
end of a segment of sanitary sewer main to allow for access to
maintain the pipe.
Symbology: All points are symbolized using a
"single symbol" set. Clean outs are shown as green circles with a
cross.
Labels: The labels represent each clean out's unit
ID number, and is derived from the "unitid" data field.
Definition Query: None
Manhole
(metadata)
Description: This point feature class is a
collection of sewer manholes found in the City of Bellingham's
sanitary sewer system. Sanitary sewer manholes allow maintenence
access to the sanitary sewer system.
Symbology: All points are symbolized using a
"single symbol" set. Manholes are shown as green circles.
Labels: The labels represent each manhole's unit ID
number, and is derived from the "unitid" data field.
Definition Query: None
Fitting
(metadata)
Description: This point feature class is a
collection of sewer fittings (cap, tee, cross, etc.) found in the
City of Bellingham's sanitary sewer system. Individual sewer
fittings may serve to close off a sewer pipe end or may connect
sewer pipes to one another.
Symbology: All points are symbolized using a
"single symbol" set. Fittings are shown as green crosses.
Labels: The labels represent each fitting's unit ID
number, and is derived from the "unitid" data field.
Definition Query: None
Gravity Main
(metadata)
Description: This polyline feature class is a
collection of sewer gravity main lines found within the City of
Bellingham sanitary sewer system. Sewer gravity mains are pipes that
transport wastewater that flowing downhill.
Symbology: There are three seperate symbols that
indicate whether the gravity main is City of Bellingham or Privately
maintained, and if it is under construction. These symbols are
based on combinations between the "AdministrativeArea" and "LifecycleStatus" data
fields. A solid green line with flow direction arrow
symbolizes gravity mains that are "active" (not under construction)
and maintained by the City of Bellingham. A green line with round
dots symbolizes gravity mains that are under construction and that
will be maintained by the City of Bellingham when they become
"active." A green dashed line symbolizes gravity mains that are
"active" and maintained privately. Gravity mains that are under
construction that will be privately maintained are not symbolized in
this layer file.
Labels: The labels represent each manhole's unit ID
number, and is derived from the "unitid" data field.
Definition Query: None
Pressurized Main
(metadata)
Description: This polyline feature class is a
collection of sewer pressurized main lines found within the City of
Bellingham sanitary sewer system. Sewer pressure mains are pipes
that transport wastewater that is forced to flow uphill under
pressure.
Symbology: There are three seperate symbols that
indicate whether the pressure main is City of Bellingham or
Privately maintained, and if it is under construction. These symbols
are based on combinations between the "AdministrativeArea" and "LifecycleStatus" data
fields. A green and white line with flow direction arrow symbolizes
pressure mains that are "active" (not under construction) and
maintained by the City of Bellingham. A green line with square dots
symbolizes pressure mains that are under construction and that will
be maintained by the City of Bellingham when they become "active." A
green line and white dashed line symbolizes pressure mains that are
"active" and maintained privately. Pressure mains that are under
construction that will be privately maintained are not symbolized in
this layer file.
Labels: The labels indicate the diameter, material,
and year of installation of the pressurized main pipe.
Definition Query: None
Lateral Line
(metadata)
Description: This polyline feature class is a
collection of sewer service lines found within the City of
Bellingham sanitary sewer system. Service ("lateral") lines are
privately owned and provide a connection to the sanitary sewer
system. This data, as a whole, is not considered to be highly
accurate.
Symbology: All lines are symbolized using a "single
symbol" set. Lateral lines (service lines) are shown as dashed green
lines.
Labels: None
Definition Query: None
Eden Customer Sewer Service
Description: This point provide a spatial view
of sewer customers from Eden data records in the City of
Bellingham sanitary sewer system.
Symbology: A green dot symbolizes each sewer
customer record filtered from Eden records as defined in the
definition query below.
Labels: Labels indicate the Eden customer
account number based on the UnitID field.
Definition Query: SEWER_DESC is not NULL, blank
or coded as "No Sewer Service"
Sewer Basins
Description: This polygon feature class
consists of defined areas where the sanitary sewer system
contributes flow to each trunk sewer main in the City of
Bellingham sanitary sewer system.
Symbology: All polygons are symbolized using a
"single symbol" set. Sewer basins are shown as gray polygons.
Labels: The labels indicate the name of each
sewer basin based on the "name" data field.
