Donation Land Claims is a polygon featureclass which contains the City of Bellingham's thirteen Donation Land Claims. The Donation Land Claim Act of 1850 was intended to promote settlement in the Pacific Northwest. Attributes are limited to the name of the Donation Land Claim.
The purpose of the Donation Land Claims (DLC) data is to show the location of DLC's within the City of Bellingham city limits and provide historical context to the shaping of the City of Bellingham.
