Habitat RestorationRestoring Habitat

There are over 75 miles of shoreline in Bellingham, including the marine nearshore of Bellingham Bay, two freshwater lakes, and five streams.  These  habitats provide corridors for fish and wildlife, as well as trails and recreational opportunities for the citizens of Bellingham. Keeping these waterways and the surrounding greenspace clean and available ensures the quality of life we enjoy. The City's Environmental Resources Division of the Public Works Department develops and oversees an extensive habitat restoration program.
