Recycling services in Bellingham are provided by Sanitary Service Company (360-734-3490) under contract to the City. The charge for service is set by City ordinance.
The Bellingham Clean Green Transfer Station accepts residential yard waste from Whatcom County residents. The site is operated by the Bellingham Public Works Department as one of Whatcom County's waste management programs.
The dumping fee is $10 per load, effective April 5, 2014. A load is defined as a pick-up truck, garbage bag, trailer or bundle. A pick-up truck with a trailer will be charged as two loads.
In order to reduce delays, please have your payment ready as you approach the payment drop box. Please have exact change ready. The attendant will not make change.
The Clean Green Transfer Station is located on Woburn Street near the corner of Lakeway and Woburn Streets in Bellingham. Look for the large sign next to the entrance on Woburn Street. (MapQuestÂ® map)
The transfer station is open 8:30 am to 4:00 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. We are closed in November, December, January, and February. The last day for the 2014 season is Sunday, Oct. 26.

Loads from hauling services and commercial establishments can not be accepted.
All of the materials brought to the site are used to make compost. All of the material brought to the station must be free of contamination and prohibited materials.
