The Silver Beach Neighborhood Association has resurrected the Lake Whatcom Pledge Program originally launched in 1999 and made it even better. Volunteers from the Silver Beach Neighborhood will walk to each house in their neighborhood and hang door-hangers asking each resident to take the Pledge to protect Lake Whatcom.
Those interested in taking the Pledge will be directed to an on-line survey to learn new ways to protect the Lake. They will then take a Pledge committing to make changes in daily habits to protect the Lake.
Residents taking the Pledge will have their choice of resources and recognition items including a Lake Whatcom Steward yard sign, decorative ceramic plaque or colorful sun-catcher to hang in a window.
