Based on supply, rain barrels may be available for purchase at a cost of $25 per barrel through the Water Conservation Program. The 55-gallon capacity rain barrels are blue in color, food-grade HDPE plastic and include an installed hose bib and overflow valve. Customers must supply a screen for the inflow hole and are responsible for installation. A Rain Barrel Guide is included with each purchase. For rain barrel availability and purchase information, please email waterconservation@cob.org or contact the Public Works Department at 778-7700.
After confirming that barrels are in stock and arranging for barrel pick up, customers must pay the $25 per barrel fee at the Finance Department at City Hall (210 Lottie Street, 8am-5pm M-F) and obtain a receipt. On the pre-arranged pick up day, customers should bring the receipt to the lobby of the Public Works Operations facility (2221 Pacific Street, 7:30am-12pm; 1pm-4pm M-F) to obtain their barrel(s). Customers must confirm the date for pick up of barrel(s) prior to arriving at the Operations facility.
Please contact the Operations Division of the Public Works Department if you would like more information about Water Conservation.
