Vaccines available for seasonal influenza and H1N1 influenza

health care provider administering a vaccine

The United States Centers for Disease Control (CDC), local health officials and doctors recommend vaccination as the first and most important prevention strategy for both seasonal influenza and H1N1 influenza.

Seasonal Flu Vaccine

Seasonal flu vaccine is now available. You can receive the vaccine at your primary care provider’s office or at a community clinic (PDF).

H1N1 Flu Vaccine

H1N1 flu vaccine is now available. The total quantity of vaccine in this first shipment is expected to be very limited, so the first priority for this shipment are groups at higher risk of illness or complications. Health officials are scheduling free vaccination clinics for eligible priority groups. Visit the Whatcom County Health Department H1N1 information page for the H1N1 Flu Clinic schedule and other instructions.

In the coming weeks, enough doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine should be available for anyone who wants to be vaccinated.
