The Teen Volunteer Program exploded with success in 2002 when it joined forces with the AmeriCorps Program to expand teen volunteer opportunities. The City Teen Program Coordinator works closely with an AmeriCorps Teen Volunteer Coordinator every year to provide a variety of volunteer opportunities for teens in Whatcom County. In Summer 2007 teen volunteers topped over 5000 hours of community service! Teen volunteers work with local nonprofits like Habitat for Humanity, Blue Skies for Children, the Sean Humphrey House, and so many more to better our community. We strive to add an element of education to the experience so teens develop the true spirit of volunteerism! Check out the upcoming volunteer opportunities in the quarterly ShoutOut! Newsletter (PDF) or the Leisure Guide and find a volunteer opportunity that fits you today!
