This project will replace two failing wooden bridges with a single-span bridge, sufficient to accommodate the future re-routing of Squalicum Creek. The street will be widened to include bicycle lanes, sidewalk on the east side, a center turn lane and street lighting. The project also includes a one-way paved parking area for Sunset Pond Park.
Accomplishments: Retaining walls and stormwater
treatment system were installed in November.
Next Milestones: Pouring the bridge deck concrete is currently scheduled for December 4, 2014. The opening of James Street to traffic is anticipated in January, 2015.
