The 2012 Sewer Main Replacement Program is part of an annual program to replace, repair, and improve the City’s sewer system to extend the useful life of the existing system by 40 years or more.
The project consists primarily of replacing manholes and restoring sanitary sewer lines and side sewer connections to near new condition through the use of Cure in Place Pipe (CIPP) and open cut methods. This year’s program involves replacement of approximately 8000 lineal feet of ten existing sanitary sewer mains.
The trenchless method, called pipe bursting, will pull a new pipe of the same diameter through the existing pipe, shattering it, and replacing the previous pipe.
