This project will be an extension of West Illinois Street to Marine Drive
along the Timpson Way
right-of-way. The project is funded with County, State and private dollars.
The purpose of the project is to divert truck traffic away from the
residential area to a designated route. The road extension will include
retaining walls, stormwater piping and treatment facilities, bike lanes,
sidewalks, street lights and landscaping. In addition, contaminated soils
will be removed. The new street will become the primary access point
for Bellingham Technical College and Morse Steel from Marine Drive.
Accomplishments: Final inspection held 12/7/10.
