West Illinois Street Extension

Project Overview: ES-0310

This project will be an extension of the existing street to Marine Drive along Timpson Way. The project is funded with County, State and Private dollars. The purpose of the project is to divert truck traffic to designated route from the residential area.

Status - October 2009

Accomplishments: Received comments from DOE on Revised Voluntary Cleanup Plan (VCP). Reviewed final plans with Whatcom County. Draft bid documents completed for review.

Next Milestones: Complete all NEPA permits. Obtain "letter of opinion" from DOE. Execute memorandum of understanding with State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) on plan for archeological monitoring during construction. Hold open house.
