The 2012 Annual Overlay Program aims to maintain existing streets to protect the initial investment in the street and to ensure an adequate quality driving surface for mobility and public safety. Work includes pavement repair, leveling of the pavement surface, and resurfacing with hot mix asphalt on Elm, Dupont, Woburn and Indian streets. In addition, existing handicap ramps, pedestrian crossings and drainage will be updated for compliance with current standards. Bike lanes will be added to the Northwest/Elm/Dupont corridor. Safety improvements will be added to Indian Street.
The 2012 funding includes about $1,372,000 from the Transportation Benefit District as well as street funds.
Accomplishments: Completed paving of Woburn Street
between Alabama and Lakeway. Completed striping and raising of manhole
covers and valve covers to the new pavement elevations.
Next Milestones: Project substantially complete. Complete punch list.
