At about 11:10 PM on November 20, 2009, Bryan Marriott, age 43, was found shot to death next to his vehicle in the 300 block of East Ivy Street in Bellingham, Washington. Prior to the shooting, witnesses heard an argument. Witnesses also reported seeing a dark colored passenger car leaving the area.
Police speculate this may have been a case of road-rage, and that Marriott may have been involved in a confrontation with someone who felt the need to defend himself. Detectives investigating the case hope that with the passing of more than three years, the person forced to confront Marriott may feel more willing to come forward and help provide answers for Marriott's family.
The Bellingham Police Department is offering a $5,000 reward for any information leading to an arrest in this case. Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is offering a $1,000 reward.
