Van Wyck Park is a 20 acre undeveloped community park site purchased in 2009 to serve the proposed King Mountain Urban Village. Voter approved Greenway 3 levy funds were used for the purchase. The land has an open pasture with a treed fringe on the north half with more dense vegetation on the south half. There is a private occupied residence on the property that is proposed to become a rentable park pavilion in the future. The park is currently accessed from Van Wyck Road, however, there are no public amenities available.
To be determined.
A meeting was conducted on February 9, 2012, with members of the community to gather input for the development of a concept site plan and vision for the park. A follow up meeting is pending.
