Description

This property is located in north Bellingham, which over the last 20 years has experienced significant growth.  The Cordata Park property was acquired for a neighborhood park and greenway corridor.  The park area includes approximately 27 acres of green space, wetlands, a regional detention facility, and critical habitat areas.

Master planning of the Park was completed in 2008.  Phase 1 development of the mater plan will include a new trail from Horton Road (SE corner of Park), north through the Park, and then East to connect to Cordata Parkway.  Phase 1 Trails will include a new pedestrian bridge and wetland mitigation planting.

Funding

$600,000 Real Estate Excise Tax (for Phase 1 Construction)

$250,000 Park Impact Fees (for Master Planning & Construction)

Status

Phase 1 Trail is currently in the design and permitting stage.
