Bellingham Parks & Recreation is working with Reid Middleton, an engineering consulting and planning firm with extensive waterfront experience, to design beach access and shoreline improvements at Boulevard Park. The Boulevard Park shoreline is eroding away as a result of ineffective shoreline armoring. Proposed improvements include removing concrete rubble along the shoreline, creating sand & gravel beaches, and creating sandstone drifts. One design concept includes converting portions of the existing lawn to a gravel and sand beach.
