Description

Bellingham Parks & Recreation has completed beach access and shoreline improvements at Boulevard Park.

The Boulevard Park shoreline was eroding away as a result of ineffective shoreline armoring. Improvements included removing concrete rubble along the shoreline, creating sand and gravel beaches and rock revetments. Portions of the existing lawn were converted to a gravel and sand beach.

Funding

Funding was provided by Greenway Levy III - Heritage Park Improvement

Status

Phase 1 construction, including the west beach (just north of the coffee shop) was completed in October 2013.  Future phases of work have been approved by the permitting agencies and are awaiting funding.
