Description
Administration of the City​Provide overall City administration and direction to all City departments.
Boards and Commissions Coordinate appointments and information about various City advisory boards and commissions.
City BudgetSubmit a proposed budget to City Council.
City Council LiaisonCoordinate information and decision-making, maintaining an effective working relationship with the Bellingham City Council.
Climate OfficeMayor’s Office of Climate oversees City Climate Action Plan and related actions City-wide.
CommunicationsOversees City-wide news, public information and public involvement.
Economic DevelopmentProvides support to new and existing businesses, and strategic economic development planning.
Equal Opportunity EmploymentEstablishes policies applied to any elected official, manager, staff or volunteer that does work or business of the City and anyone who applies for employment with the City.
Government Relations Establish and maintain relations with local, state and federal officials and agencies.
HomelessnessCoordinate information and decision-making on City policy and procedure in regards to homelessness; establish and maintain relations with other local agencies to address homelessness and affordable housing.​
Liquor and Cannabis Licenses Coordinate City review of Liquor and Cannabis​ License Applications, make recommendations to the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board.
Neighborhoods     Provides resources and liaison for neighborhood leaders, leads Mayor’s Neighborhood Advisory Commission.
Proclamations Work with individuals and agencies to acknowledge important occasions, significant accomplishments and special people.
Sister Cities Represent the City on the Sister Cities Advisory Board and coordinate the exchange of staff with Bellingham’s seven sister cities.
Waterfront Redevelopment  Oversee waterfront redevelopment partnership with the Port of Bellingham and coordinate waterfront redevelopment work City-wide.
