Student artwork featured on holiday greeting cards

Holiday Cards

Two Columbia Elementary School students are being honored this year by having their artwork featured on the Mayor's Office holiday greeting cards.

Drawings submitted by first-grade student Luna Jacobs and third-grade student Lily Koll were chosen from more than 200 designs.

Each year, the Mayor's Office solicits drawings from a local elementary school to feature on the cards, which are mailed out to hundreds of community volunteers, local, state and federal elected officials, and other community leaders.

Bellingham Public Schools selects one elementary school per year to participate, and students from each grade in that school are asked to submit drawings that illustrate wintertime celebrations. From the drawings submitted, the Mayor selects two to be featured on the cards.

The Mayor also visits the selected school and presents awards to the school and the two students whose artwork was chosen.

Congratulations, Luna and Lily!
